Calculating How Much Space You Need

When shipping goods internationally, space is measured in CBM (Cubic Metres). Understanding CBM helps you avoid overpaying for unused container space and choose the right shipping option.

How much Space did I use?

My 51-square-metre, one-bedroom apartment was fully furnished (including the living room, bedroom, dining area and the entire bathroom was renovated after demolition) using approximately 16 CBM of container space.

CBM (Cubic Metre) is calculated as: Length (m) × Width (m) × Height (m)

You do not need to make these calculations yourself, ask the vendor for the post- packaging CBM and they will provide this information to you. Here are some examples of how much space/ CBM is taken up by different items.

Reserve as much or as little space as you need

Bekker Logistics allows you to ship your items either in a dedicated full container or by reserving allocated space within a shared container.

Traditionally, shared containers carry a higher risk of mishandling due to multiple consignments being combined. With Bekker Logistics, our shared containers are managed to the same standards as a private container.
